Grapes are hand-harvested, then fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve Sangiovese’s fresh red fruit character and natural acidity. After fermentation, the wine is transferred to used barriques, which soften harsh tannins and allow secondary and tertiary aromas to develop without heavy oak tones. Aromas of blackberry, sour cherry and wild red plum are balanced by dried rose, white pepper and earthy notes of walnut husk and sweet tobacco.
